We introduce sensory, motor, perceptual, and language skills through the purposeful selection of materials. Circle Time allows us to discuss our daily plans, play games, share stories, sing, dance, explore poetry, finger-play and music. We will learn through everyday activities such as planting, as well as caring for our garden and ourselves.
Our program provides opportunities for deeper inquiry and reflection while allowing us space and time for ongoing project work with wire, weaving, wood, clay, watercolor, chalk, and more. Our schedules are designed to balance structure and allow our day to flow naturally from one part to the next.
At Sunny Hills, we encourage language and literacy, problem-solving, and deeper learning across the curriculum. We provide ample time for child-directed play and exploration because it is through play that children connect, build friendships, and process their understanding of the world around them and their place in it.
